First images of new flagship Lexus saloon: 2018 LS
During 2018 we’ll see the fifth generation of the Lexus LS. The flagship of Toyota premium brand, based on the GA-L platform (same of LC model) should grow in size, especially as the wheelbase that should exceed 300 cm. Also expected all modern driving systems developed by Japanese manufacturer and maybe first steps to autonomous driving.
Among these, an assistance system for traffic driving, for collisions prevention and an evolution of the lane departure warning. About the engines, confirmed the presence of hybrids or plug-in hybrid powertrains. The new 2018 Lexus LS, should inherit from the LC 500h a 3.5-liter V6 coupled by electric traction.
We heard also about the presence of 5.0 liter V8 engine of the LC 500. Transmission may be an automatic Aisin 10 gears; while some other voices speculate the arrival of a fuel-cells (hydrogen) powertrain system.
